Robert Bonomo on how 9-11 Truthers defeated Hillary |336|

Which malf has already highlighted in another quote from this week. It is a baseless assertion that is held up as a truth. The danger for us all is that Trump acts impulsively from these positions in a world that will be all too ready to exploit such loose talk.

Just maybe, he is (unknowingly) showing us how absurd what it is we're often hearing as the 'truth' from the mainstream media. Yet we are expected to, and often blindly do, believe loads of stuff that is, at best, doubtful, at worst, blatant nonsense. What will it achieve? It might just bring to our attention this fact, wake some more people up, maybe a lot of people who usually blindly see the news and don't really question it.

Trump often appears to say very little more than those in the video above, patent nonsense.

Hi Hurm, appreciate your good grace and willingness to engage. What I find enraging about Trump can be found, once again, in one of his most recent utterances (Muir Interview - full transcript):

DAVID MUIR: ... what I'm asking that -- when you say in your opinion millions of illegal votes, that is something that is extremely fundamental to our functioning democracy, a fair and free election.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Sure. Sure. Sure.

DAVID MUIR: You say you're gonna launch an investigation.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Sure, done.

DAVID MUIR: What you have presented so far has been debunked. It's been called ...

(OVERTALK)

DAVID MUIR: ... false.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: No, it hasn't. Take a look at the Pew reports.

DAVID MUIR: I called the author of the Pew report last night. And he told me that they found no evidence of voter ...

(OVERTALK)

DAVID MUIR: ... fraud.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Really? Then why did he write the report?

DAVID MUIR: He said no evidence of voter fraud.

PRESIDENT TRUMP: Excuse me, then why did he write the report?

(OVERTALK)

PRESIDENT TRUMP: According to Pew report, then he's -- then he's groveling again. You know, I always talk about the reporters that grovel when they wanna write something that you wanna hear but not necessarily millions of people wanna hear or have to hear.

and then later ... "Now, you're telling me Pew report has all of a sudden changed."

This use of a report to support a belief and then the incredulous rejection of the author for changing the report, when no such change has occurred, is classic Trump. Precisely the same outrageous tactic used in the whole Serge Kovaleski fiasco.

Finally ...

PRESIDENT TRUMP: No, not at all because they didn't come to me. Believe me. Those were Hillary votes. And if you look at it they all voted for Hillary. They all voted for Hillary. They didn't vote for me. I don't believe I got one. Okay, these are people that voted for Hillary Clinton. And if they didn't vote, it would've been different in the popular.

I have a response, just swamped with work right now! Will respond when I can. :)

Interesting interview with Greg Phillips on CNN just now. I'm glad they had him on. All he did is assert that 3-5 illegal aliens voted in the election. He presented not one shred of evidence. He couldn't present the evidence yet because they don't have the evidence yet. But they are going to have the evidence as soon as they gather it. But without the evidence they know that 3-5 illegal aliens voted in the election.

Interesting.

I'm sure it was creatively edited.

A brilliant analysis of this whirlwind of mutual "fake news" accusations we're experiencing now.
consider the lead-up to the war in Iraq: there were no Weapons of Mass Destruction, but every capitalist media company in the United States reported the government’s story as if there were. Were they then and are they now merely trying to keep our attention? Or did the rich who ran those media companies have an interest in seeing the US go to war then and possibly go to war now?
Most of all, we must refuse to take either side in the war the rich are fighting against each other. Neither Liberals nor Conservatives, neither the media nor the president, neither Russia or the United States. They depend on us to fight these wars for them, to take one side or another. If we withdraw, they will have to fight these wars themselves, and while they’re distracted, we’ll make our own truth and build our own world without them.

Okay I have a moment!

I agree Trump did not get the specifics of the report or the author's original intention correct. Trump was probably listening to the Alex Jones for some night time ambiance as he was falling asleep and got a bunch of reports jumbled together.

Yes it's a shame he couldn't better defend his position with a memory for the details - he can't say hold on let me google that like we can here in a written debate; however, his position is defensible and it is an act of fake newsing when the media acts like this is totally false and has been entirely debunked instead of admitting there is some truth to the claim... and that it is possible the claim is entirely true, but no one has been able to verify it yet.

The 2012 pew report did find that there are over 24 million inaccurate or invalid voter registrations out there, over 1.8 million dead people still registered, and 2.75 million people had registrations in more than one state. There are also over 11 million illegal immigrants here. Some of them are registered to vote. Some of them have fake ID. Some of them will vote in areas where no ID is required. And Trump is right: they're not going to vote for the guy has promised to deport them!

If you're a high level democratic operative like Creamer, who visited the White House hundreds of times and bragged on tape about organizing voter fraud, then what do those numbers look like to you? Massive potential!

Why do the Democrats claim voter ID is racist? It obviously has nothing to do with race.

Voter ID laws make it harder for the Democrats to commit voter fraud.

Obama was asked if illegal immigrants should be afraid to vote for fear that their vote would somehow lead Immigration services to investigate them, and Obama said no and essentially encouraged them to vote

Again, Trump's 3 million number comes from Gregg Phillips who was interviewed on the Alex Jones show. Without a thorough investigation we don't know with certainty whether that number is accurate. It could even be an understatement.

A recent university study estimated that 1.28 million out of 20 million non-citizens voted in the election and they also estimated that this would have led to over 834 thousand net votes to Clinton.

The estimate of 1.28 million is less than Trump's 3 million, but that is still not an insignificant number and something needs to be done about it even if the number really is that low. Trump's assertion that they didn't vote for him is just a matter of common sense: illegal people are not going to vote for the person who will deport them. Maybe a tiny percentage will, but mostly no. I work with some people who may or may not be illegal so I have a little insight into their mindset...not pro-Trump.

Thanks, Hurm. Well reasoned as always. I would feel far more comfortable if you can wrangle a part time advisory role within the administration.

I think the quote above says it all. It is possible, but not worthy of Trumpian hyperbole until verified. The highly declarative language Trump falls into, buttressed by entirely inaccurate quoting of sources, who often immediately refute his interpretation of their work, just damages his argument and credibility.

Similarly, Trump's lawyers response to Jill Stein's push for a recount doesn't help matters either: “On what basis does Stein seek to disenfranchise Michigan citizens? None really, save for speculation,” the filing read. “All available evidence suggests that the 2016 general election was not tainted by fraud or mistake.” Trump may wish to have it always Trump First, but in a co-operative, civil society the lines of demarcation demand consistency.

I am beset with personal bias and prejudice, and like most seek confirmation rather than challenge, but I do enjoy attempting to understand (or at least acknowledge) our tribalism.

Man, this music with his rant had me grinning from ear to ear. Hurmanetar, what is the deal with this guy? I know very little about conspiracy theorists.

I did not watch this podcast either, even though it has been getting a lot of traffic.

Haha yeah that music was perfect for his sci-fi-meets-reality rant. :) I don't recall if that rant came before or after he smoked the pot... lol

What is the deal with Alex Jones? He's a wild-ass Texan with a magic combination of charisma, curiosity, courage, and a sense of old-fashioned Western justice that has sent him down a successful path as a public figure leading a movement against globalism, corruption, and eugenics and mass mind-control and playing a critical role in world politics.

Being a Texan myself with similar background and affinities, and having listened to Jones for over a decade I feel like I completely understand him.
