I don’t know much about this Delong thing. Is it true that he believes that there are evil aliens who we will need to blast out of the sky with nuclear weapons? I read that was his stance. Tell me it isn’t true. It’s laughable.

Considering they have employed the former director of the "Skunkworks" at Lockheed Martin, that sounds like a very profitable opinion doesn't it? All they need is for congress to think the sky is falling and it'll rain cash.

The scary thing is that one could probably get the general public to believe that we could blast evil aliens out of the sky with our weapons. As if they’d need to come near Earth to destroy it or us, or that they wouldn't have considered our nuclear capabilities during preparation. Like a child throwing a rock westward to ward off China.

Well brace yourselves everybody... we've seen the sugar-coated breath mint version of UFO disclosure, here comes the pain/FEAR:

View attachment 1214

Tom and his buddies are painting crosshairs on people who have a relationship with The Phenomenon.

The majority of public figures in the UFO Ghetto are happy to facilitate.

They love seeing their names in print.

This isn't Disclosure.

It's collective insanity, born of cultivated ignorance, being leveraged to further The Conspiracy.

I have never heard anything to that effect.

I'm reposting this link that I posted on previous page. Among other interesting things about metamaterials and warp drives, it gives Hal Puthoff's take on the TTSA and I think Hal is a good guy:
https://paradigmresearchgroup.org/2...se-irva-conference-las-vegas-nv-15-june-2018/

As far as the "threat" Puthoff says:
There is a two-fold nature to the threat. First of all, you’ve got these Advanced Aerospace Vehicles flying around that we don’t know where they come from, who’s driving them, what the intent is – possibly off-world even. But the future threat, was actually as far as the Department of Defense went and the intelligence community, one of the greater concerns. What happens if potential adversaries achieve significant breakthroughs by getting hold of advanced technology either based on their study of the phenomena, or from sensor data, or from crash retrieved materials? That could provide a problem for the United States in the sense of threat. There’s reason to be concerned about that. This is a document in the program we dug up out of the Soviet Union (“Thread-3”). It’s a very thick document. It shows that the Soviet Union had a massive program also trying to get to the root of all of this. In this document a number of research institutes and military institutes are listed. Of course, they had the same concerns we did. Is there a threat from the phenomena or might the Americans make headway before us and that be a threat?

Not to mention the fact that whatever powers these things is probably orders of magnitude more powerful than nuclear power, so even accidents could be a serious threat.

I can understand the government's perspective on the "threat" and their desire for secrecy in this regard. But I think they've been trying in secret for the past 70 years to reproduce this technology and have been unable to do so and have finally satisfied themselves that no one on earth possesses or will possess this technology anytime soon (except in the form of existing recovered craft) so it is finally time to open this up to the public and allow the brightest minds to take a look at this without all the cloak and dagger shit that has kept progress at a snail's pace.

I could be wrong... there could be a breakaway civilization right now where the richest are already building and piloting these craft in secret, but I doubt it. I think the government would like other governments to think that we have successfully reverse engineered these things as a bluff.

And Hal on the origins of the TTSA:
Despite the progress in the AATIP program, let’s face it, the topic is inherently anomalous, right? Therefore, despite the reality of the observations and all the people that we interact with in the intelligence community and the Pentagon agree – the data is there, it is real. Nonetheless the topic doesn’t fit smoothly into known profiles of the government programs for sure. And by virtue of national security implications it’s a high compartmentalizational topic, therefore a slow pace of cumulative progress and integration. We call ’em “stovepipes.” You have a lot of people with lots of detailed information about some particular aspect, but they don’t talk each other even if it is sitting at the next desk. And let’s face it, advocacy of this issue in government circles is not viewed as career enhancing in part because, despite the weirdness of the subject, if you don’t make a lot of progress, you know, it doesn’t look good on your resume that you’re moving up the line.

So, because of that, there’s a forward story. Many of us involved in the program decided that there should be an outreach program in the public sector. So this is the forward story. The goal was to establish a broad-based, high-quality scientific community-of-interest in the public sector concerning these Unidentified Aerial Phenomena and other related leading-edge topics. And so we got together and formed a company called, To the Stars Academy of Arts and Science. It was cofounded by entrepreneur Tom DeLonge – I’ll talk about him in a minute – senior intelligence officers from the Department of Defense and CIA and distinguished research scientists. We all banded together to form this academy. It was set up as a public benefit corporation so the public can invest and therefore it’s owned by the public. So this is something new. Whatever comes out of any of the research or any of the releases of information is actually going to be owned by the public. It is not going to disappear into a black hole. A very transparent structure, if you go to the website you can see everything from the financial structure to the activities, and we do have a web-based community-of-interest where things get posted. For example, the F-18 FLIR tape I showed, we now have three of them up there and probably more to come.

Alright, who are the principals of this organization? Tom DeLonge, Blink 182 rock star. Frankly, I’d never heard of Blink 182, but my son told me, “Oh yeah, we know about Blink 182.” But anyway, in addition to being the rock star that he is, he’s also a director and producer, puts out books and music and film and so on, and he’s had a lifelong interest in the UFO area. So, he started talking with various people and he was kind of the I guess you could say the action-oriented person, who said “Why don’t you set up something. Why don’t we make this more available to the public?” and he got to a number of us, and so we all began to band together. ...

So, the goals for the To the Stars Academy are to,

  • Promote the concept that such forefront topics as UFOs, SETI, consciousness studies, even telepathy and psychokinesis should not be considered taboo for serious scientific consideration. So, it’s a perfect match to the SSE because that’s our goal in the SSE as well.
  • And of course, big ideas that generate funding to underwrite significant research in these areas
  • Develop user friendly data bases so information that is generated can be accessed by anyone
  • Provide positive support for collaborative government, aerospace industry, and academic efforts to accomplish all of the above.
So, we want to act as the glue in the public sector and create entertainment properties, books and documentaries and so on so whatever is learned can be delivered out to the public.

The structure of the organization has a science structure, an aerospace structure, and an entertainment division. What are the activities of this organization to date? Actually we were responsible for legitimizing the topic in the mainstream press. That story that came out in The New York Times and so on, which then got picked up by the Washington Post, CNN, Fox News, was based on agreed-upon interviews with those of us I’ve just gone through a list of. And given the quality of sources coming out from the shadows, for example Ex-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, top F-18 pilots, significant Department of Defense and intelligence community officials, the bar has been raised on the legitimization of this topic in the public arena. We think that’s an accomplished goal to date.

Earlier in Hal's speech:
Okay, what did I [Hal Puthoff] address as a subcontractor? One of the critical issues there’s so much high-level security and compartmentalization in this subject area, and there’s a lot of it, it’s difficult for contractors to obtain expert opinions on advanced technologies because they would expose why they are interested. So, I acted as a surrogate. I was contracted to commission mostly unclassified whitepapers from experts around the globe about where their particular subject areas would be in (the year) 2050 as like a general survey of aerospace futures. I decided this would be the best way to get the best knowledge we had across many technologies without actually exposing why we wanted to know.

So, I let out 38 contracts over a two-year period. I’ll show you what the studies were on. You can read them there: positron aerospace propulsion, IEC fusion as a compact energy source, warp drive, dark energy, extra dimensions, metallic glasses for aerospace use. Really cutting edge kinds of things.

Here are some more of the papers that I commissioned: negative mass propulsion, antigravity for aerospace applications, programmable matter, invisibility cloaking – these are just the kind of things that we needed to have maximum technical input from the best people around the globe. And so, that’s what we did, that’s what I did.

Now we could wait, we told these people they could publish their reports in physics journals and engineering journals, but of course the contractors didn’t want to wait for that, so the Defense Intelligence Agency bundled up these 38 papers and put them out as Defense Intelligence Reference Documents posted on a JWICS server that anyone in the government or contractors could get access to. By and large they have not been released to the public yet; a couple of them leaked out.

The interesting bit about Metamaterials:
So let me give you an example of, how this stuff helps people who are chasing these really difficult problems. I’m choosing one here: metamaterials for aerospace use. I’d love to talk about really fancy materials, but they’re classified. However, there’s a lot of materials that have been picked up or provided even in the public domain. I’m going to give an example because it shows exactly what the structure is for how to deal with this. This is an open source sample. It was sent anonymously to talk show host Art Bell. The fellow claimed to be in the military. He said that this sample was picked up in a crash retrieval, and so he sent it by email. So what does that mean? Chain of custody non-existent. Provenance questionable. Could be a hoax. Could be some slag off of some foundry floor or whatever. However, it was an unusual sample, so we decided to take a look at it.

It was a multilayered bismuth and magnesium sample. Bismuth layers less than a human hair. Magnesium samples about ten-times the size of a human hair. Supposedly picked up in the crash retrieval of an Advanced Aerospace Vehicle. It looks like it’s been in a crash. The white lines are the bismuth; the darker areas are the magnesium separations. So the question was what about this material, so naturally we looked in all the national labs, we talked to metallurgists, we combed the entire structure of published papers. Nowhere could we find any evidence that anybody ever made one of these.

Secondly, some attempts were made to try to reproduce this material, but they couldn’t get the bismuth and magnesium layers to bond.

Thirdly, when we talked to people in the materials field who should know, they said we don’t know why anybody would want to make anything like this. It’s not obvious that it has any function.

Well, years later, decades later actually, finally our own science moves along. We move into an area called metamaterials, and it turns out exactly this combination of materials at exactly those dimensions turn out to be an excellent microscopic waveguide for very high frequency electromagnetic radiation terahertz frequencies. So, the wavelength is 60 microns, which is a pretty small size. But it turns out because of the metamaterial aspect of this material, those bismuth layers that act as waveguides can be one twentieth the size of the wavelength, and usually when you make a waveguide it’s gotta be about the size of the wavelength. So, in fact this turned out to be a material that would propagate sub-wavelength waveguide effects. Why somebody wants to do that we still don’t know the answer to that.

But anyway, it’s amazing we’ve gone through this and this is the kind of structure we go through a lot. You get a material sample with unusual characteristics to be evaluated, the method of manufacture is difficult to assess or reproduce, the purpose of the function is not readily apparent – as with our sample here, and then as our own technical knowledge moves forward we finally see a possible purpose or function comes to light. That sequence is repeated over and over in this particular area.

"Against an oath; the truth thou art unsure." ~Shakespeare

The Bard knew exactly what swearing an oath signifies: Loyalty. Not. Truth.

Anyone expecting honesty from The State had better pack a lunch.

Why does DeLonge say "soon" instead of giving a date or time frame?

Why does he say good news and bad news instead of saying what the news is?

Because he's the ideas man, not the details guy... Also he has a flair for the dramatic. He's over the artsy fartsy division of TTSA, not the engineering.

TTSA got us two NYT articles and a History Channel show and the Navy pilots and now everyone in the mainstream is allowed to broach the UFO topic without snickering... and now we have Bob Lazar being taken seriously on Joe Rogan. I'd say that's progress. What more do you want? I expect more interesting things will come out.

So any person who may have a wish to see a UFO may quite magically get to see one
May I suggest this link for you, David? https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Prophet_Yahweh
Well one individual isn't quite the same as "any person who may have a wish to see a UFO"!

This guy may have had precognition of these UFO incidents, but not summoned them up - have you thought of that?

If anyone could summon up a UFO, it would be very easy to test!

I'm transsexual, but I don't do much about it. I known it from at least age 3-4. It's a real thing and feels biological; i tend to go with the hormonal womb environment theory. I'm left handed and have the "female" digit ratio. I dislike how the right uses us as the current poster child of declinism. They tend to be flippant and not particularly knowledgeable about the subject. Still, I don't blame them their resistance; there's a ton of nonsense from the left on the topic. When I was coming up, transsexuals were a tiny and distinct, separate from crossdressers and fetishists. Now that distinction seems to have gone away, so you have a lot of weirdos covered under the umbrella "transgendered." When I see a mannish looking transwoman in some garish outfit, I feel the same way as the typical right-winger. It's uncomfortable, and no amount of brain-washing would make me think otherwise.

There are also a lot of fakes and attention whores, including I suspect a majority of the young crop you see online. I'm also skeptical of anyone who suddenly realized their gender dysphoria in their 20s and beyond. If it's real, you feel it very early. I'm not a man, but wouldn't claim to be a woman either. "Woman" should be reserved for the folks with the biology and lived experience. Transpeople should stay out of gender-specific sports. If someone invented a gender-swap booth, I'd be first in line, but I'm equally sure that in short order I'd be missing a lot of the social advantages of being male.

But back to the topic. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. Oswald acted alone; planes took down the towers, and we lifted off our spherical planet to land on the moon in 1969. I also believe the government hides what it knows about UFOs and corporatists manipulate through their control of lawmakers and the media.

You say social media shaming showcases the power of the mob, but social media is mostly a playpen for the masses to squander their creative energy on narcissistic trifles. virtue signaling and yelling past each other over religious issues. It offers no threat to the power of elites at all, and in fact plays right into their strategy of divide-and-conquer.

It doesn't really take many people to manipulate the experiences of large masses of people. If say you wanted to keep your fellow citizens material-minded, you don't have to have a meeting of 10,000 cabalists. You just need money and a bit of smarts.

Apologies for the ramble....it's late and I'm short on sleep.

Meurs,
For the record, I don't care if someone is truly a transsexual (as opposed to attention seeking borderline personality disorder) or gay or whatever. I'm not that kind of conservative.

I agree with what you say. Many people are easily manipulated because, as I said, many people are stupid, lazy and want to be led around. They ask for it. If they were led to something we approve of, like spirituality, they'd get it wrong.

Again, I don't think humans are able to usefully process this much info at such a fast pace and divorced from normal social cues (like body language, tonal inflection) and normal social responsibilities and consequences (e.g. normally wouldn't say that because might get a broken jaw). I think there is a fundamental bio/social/spiritual/evolutionary gap between our human abilities and what the tech can do (and is doing).

I have been getting into Graham Hancock again just recently. Just finished his America Before. Reading your post, Eric, I was immediately struck by Hancock's description of the impact of the Spanish on the people of South America - the devastating impact of small pox that reduced populations by up to 90% because they had no immunity to it.

In the context of the internet and social media I don't think we have built up an immunity to the infection of rampant opinion making. Once we had social hierarchies and cultural norms that managed opinions - not always in good way - but at least those fuelled by anger and ignorance were confined to pubs and BBQs. Now we have opinion overload seeping through the very fabric of our culture. Sure the 'elites' seem to be losing their sense of overt dominance, but many are growing rich on the ignorant and angry's passion to vent - so they are happy to be less apparent in what they think or feel.

Maybe these current info viruses and opinion viruses will run their course and we will develop an immunity eventually. But what will be broken and discarded between now and then and what will our cultural landscape look like afterwards?

Back to a comment from the show, which is pertinent here. I think there is an agency influencing things here - but I'd say ET only in the sense that its not terrestrial. There are some things that are driven by an inexorable logic - as profoundly disruptive forces even if you cannot precisely predict the outcome. You can know that the present will never be the same and that creative and destructive energies will be unleashed.

There's a BBC Radio 4 podcast called The Digital Human. I have downloaded it but not listened yet (Podcast pending overload). I was motivated to download it precisely because somebody saw the need to create a show on humans and digital tech.

I wrote years back that a lot of tech 'democratises' the magical. Abilities that were once the product of years of training could now be more or less replicated in small devices. Can't do telepathy? Try a mobile phone. Can't do clairvoyance? Try FaceTime. Want a spirit to tell you stuff and can't get one to hang around? Try Siri. Tech functions on a plane that is beyond the physical - we are not confined by space and time the way we used to be. I just got myself an Apple watch - a real Dick Tracey device (if you are under 60 go google that). This stuff is magic. I started off with the Motorola Brick and now I got a tiny thing on my wrist.

We are not built for this lifestyle. Once we had to stop working hard to engage in self improvement. Now we have to stop the head stuff to give our bodies a workout - a complete flip! Where will things be in 20 years? Look back on the past 20 years and all we can say is we have NFI. This stuff is driving the evolution our psyches, bodies and culture like crazy.

If the government starts making definite statements that ETs exist, it will be proof that they lied in the past. Why should we believe an admitted liar on the subject they have been lying about for around 70 years?

It could be that governments are done lying because it is plainly evident that most people know they are. There is a really weird idea that ET gives a damn about government. It has been plainly apparent that it does not. ET has been interacting with humans all over the place. That might include governments, because they are mostly human after all (at least I think/hope so).

It could be that the pool of people who believe governments has grown so small its like Trump's base - no longer able to be a determining factor in any manipulative agenda. There could now be votes in coming clean.

ET has been very democratic about who is influenced. But it would be unfair of ET to talk to everybody and not to governments.

I know a lot of people believe that idiotic notion that the USA is 'the leader of the free world', but most sensible people think it a risible notion. I am not 'led' by my country's government - I substantially comply with its imposts because doing so outweighs not doing so. But if ET rocks dup to me and said "Take me to your leader." I would have to say 'You are eyeballing him, mate!"

To the extent that we can divide ET into the 'nuts and bolts' type and those who aren't, the former might elect to deal with organisations that can confer some 'nuts and bolts' kind of benefit (like trade), but the latter seem to have no interest at that level.

I was convinced long ago that ETs are here because of reports by experinecers. If that's not good enough for other people, there are statement by astronauts and high ranking government and military officials.

All I want is a taxi.

The testimony for all these phenomena is totally overwhelming. I think a HUGE reason why so many disbelieve is because they don’t take the time to listen to experiencers. Now, with the internet, we are able to hear hundreds of thousands of people telling their stories. People who are emotional and sincere. People who are credible. People who lost a lot and were ridiculed. Military, state, government officials on and on and on. I’m the same as you. I think I have a good bullshit detector, and it was listening to testimony which caused me to believe in these things. The testimony in all of these areas would easily be enough in a court of law to convict any man of any crime.

In many other fields, some discussed on skeptiko, some not, the truth is available just as easily from many reputable witnesses. But most people prefer to walk around in self-enforced ignorance ignoring a multitude of reputable witnesses or believing a few charlatans.

If there is a paradigm shift, it will be that people will develop discernment. If they would simply open their eyes, many things will come into focus all at once.
