Coronavirus Pandemic

Nothing that controversial though... There is a virus, it is nasty, particularly for the elderly, the world panicked, the cure could well be worse than the disease.

He certainly spoke with more clarity than he often writes. :D
Well he certainly does not seem to be a fan of lockdowns - particularly against respiratory viruses. He is also concerned that the damage caused by the lockdowns may end up eclipsing that caused by the virus. He also points out how several papers were written pointing out that lockdowns really would not be effective, but these were ignored.

Near the end he expressed an opinion that some people are sustaining the lockdowns for perceived political advantage.

Study Shows that More than 90% of Cases Tested COVID-Positive Are Wrongly Diagnosed!

...

I remember when folks were saying the fatality rate of covid19 was overestimated because there were vast numbers of cases that were not detected because they were mild or without symptoms.

Then tests became widely available and they found the vast numbers of undetected cases and lowered the fatality rate.

Now they are saying those vast number of mild cases are fake.

Should we raise the fatality rate back to it's original scary high level?

Yes... when we use COVID alone as the death's and then when we separate the vulnerable while emphasizing the point that humanity as a whole should not pay for those who have, via their life choices, created their own unhealthy lifestyle results. Open up the world, protect the vulnerable (age related and not of their own fault) and let's get back to the reason we are provided life.

And don't forget all the people dying and/or having their whole life destroyed because of these lock-down draconian measures.

Just in case a reader didn't see this in a different thread which it was posted - Here's an interview with Skeptiko's member, The Ethical Skeptic - He's been doing some incredible analysis (real analysis, not media driven hyperhype)

And get this clown off the radar of the rest of us on this planet...

Press in His Pocket: Bill Gates Buys Media to Control the Messaging
By Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
Children's Health Defense

Dr. Joseph Farrell refers to him as Baal Gates (a far more accurate "name") but here's the article -

A Columbia Journalism Review expose reveals that, to control global journalism, Bill Gates has steered over $250 million to the BBC, NPR, NBC, Al Jazeera, ProPublica, National Journal, The Guardian, the New York Times, Univision, Medium, the Financial Times, The Atlantic, the Texas Tribune, Gannett, Washington Monthly, Le Monde, Center for Investigative Reporting, Pulitzer Center, National Press Foundation, International Center for Journalists, and a host of other groups. To conceal his influence, Gates also funneled unknown sums via subgrants for contracts to other press outlets.

His press bribes have paid off. During the pandemic, bought and brain-dead news outlets have treated Bill Gates as a public health expert—despite his lack of medical training or regulatory experience.

Gates also funds an army of independent fact checkers including the Poynter Institute and Gannett —which use their fact-checking platforms to “silence detractors” and to “debunk” as “false conspiracy theories” and “misinformation,” charges that Gates has championed and invested in biometric chips, vaccine identification systems, satellite surveillance, and COVID vaccines.

Gates’s media gifts, says CJR author Tim Schwab, mean that “critical reporting about the Gates Foundation is rare.” The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation declined multiple interview requests from CJR and refused to disclose how much money it has funneled to journalists.

In 2007, the LA Times published one of the only critical investigations on the Gates Foundation, exposing Gates’s holdings in companies that hurt people his foundation claims to help, like industries linked to child labor. Lead reporter Charles Piller, says, “They were unwilling to answer questions and pretty much refused to respond in any sort of way…”

The investigation showed how Gates’s global health funding has steered the world’s aid agenda toward Gates’ personal goals (vaccines and GMO crops) and away from issues such as emergency preparedness to respond to disease outbreaks, like the Ebola crisis.

“They’ve dodged our questions and sought to undermine our coverage,” says freelance journalist Alex Park after investigating the Gates Foundation’s polio vaccine efforts.

I just finished a careful listen to The Ethical Skeptic's interview on the Todd Herman show.

https://omny.fm/shows/the-todd-herman-show/independent-data-analyst-ethical-skeptic-joins-the

In 30 minutes, I have adjusted a great deal of my views as well as my positions with regards to COVID-19. I think the better word would be, greatly "refined" my views and positions. Again, all in 30 minutes.

The first question I have is... why have we (the general population of the US (if not the globe)) been so massively misinformed? Understand, when you have people thinking all over the map of possibility, regardless that somewhere within that map is a nugget here or there of truth, you leave people with a proclivity towards all the types of conclusions that drive fear, stress, over the top 'overreaction,' selfishness, "better safe than sorry" reactions, etc. etc.

And this is exactly what happened with this "covid fiasco."

Set to the side unanswered questions like - Was this breakout a natural occurrence, an "accident" by messing with things that shouldn't have been or intentional.

The Ethical Skeptic and Todd Herman dealt with the fact of it.

And via this most exceptional interview of The Ethical Skeptic "a view" came into view 1 million times more clearly than I had experienced before (even the time I spent following TES's tweets and checking his website - https://theethicalskeptic.com/) and I say this because, some people are just plain far more brilliant and have developed analysis capabilities and the talent to generate the tools from what I have to accept as the most reliable data than anything I could understand or have done.

I am like "an average Joe" in most ways although I tend to "smell more rats" than most everyone else. But also, I am prone to "smelling non-existent rats" too. TES has now, finally, cleared all that away (at least for me).

So anyone reading my post here - note that I have a new, and refined view of this virus.

Some here may have noted that I have beaten the drum of importance in taking personal responsibility. I will be addressing what I now see to have been mistakes in my actions (typed words on a forum are actions) in a soon to be posted post.

As always I am crazy busy, so I have two questions: 1) what is the definition of death "laundering'?; and 2) where is the podcast in which TES appears (per reply by Bek5986870)? Is it the Todd Herman show? Merci buckets!

To the second question - yes, a Todd Herman show interview - here's the link
https://omny.fm/shows/the-todd-herman-show/independent-data-analyst-ethical-skeptic-joins-the

To the first question - this is just my interpretation... the clean up of the statistics as they role in, even several weeks after their actualization. And this could include re-categorization as well.

EDIT: I was mostly off the mark other than to say, "clean up." TES clarifies here - http://www.skeptiko-forum.com/threads/coronavirus-pandemic.4489/page-89#post-146161

TY!! I am listening to that podcast now. Your explanation of what is being laundered did the trick for me--though to say it is death laundering is confusing IMO. BTW what does 'legacy' mean in all of this? P.S. I am interested in the analysis of excess deaths esp. a breakout number for Covid-related "despair deaths" provided by a source that does not have an agenda. :)

I don't perceive TES has some sort of agenda other than to share the percentages he covered near the end of the interview where he also shared where he obtained the information from - the information he has obtained from the MMWR data published on the CDC website (here is MMWR info on the CDC website - https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/index.html) and then share how he derived his conclusions via mathematical analysis of that data. He was transparent and (for a simple minded guy like me) easy to understand.

I maybe am not understanding the end of your post but it seemed you might be suggesting TES might have some sort of agenda (ie. biased and/or nefarious) and perhaps I am just being too sensitive. Understand, TES said things I did not want to hear, for example, that "the virus" wasn't just "real" but that it was serious. Yet considering all his information as a whole, including his complete avoidance of any possible "conspiracy" or even something more benign such as touching upon the possibility that politically driven folks may have abused "the virus" in using it as an opportunity to harm perceived political opponents...

Maybe you where trying to point to Todd Herman having an agenda.

Thinking about this further - I have an agenda... to discover more "the truth" and avoid more of "the BS." haha... so admittedly, I have an agenda. But also, I have a bias YET, I am aware of that bias. This allows me to consider information I don't "want to hear" but which might have more validity than "that which I currently believe." I avoid ideologues, especially ones who, in my estimation, are mostly or completely dishonest (which may be unwitting... in that they are dishonest with themselves) but also, the intentionally dishonest noting that there's a cadre of such even within the membership of this forum (my opinion only - and not you, LS).

Sweden Cries Victory in Battle with Coronavirus

Sweden now “has one of the lowest rates of [coronavirus] infections even though it has never adopted a rigid lockdown,” announced the Italian daily Corriere della Sera Saturday.

As many nations struggle with a resumption of the pandemic, in Stockholm the data shows the number of coronavirus infections is clearly descending, the article asserted.

https://www.corriere.it/esteri/20_s...-94cc-1f80cc642b17.shtml?cmpid=tbd_54f508c2ux

“Sweden has gone from being the country with the most infections in Europe to the safest one,” Dr. Anders Tegnell, the Swedish government’s most consulted epidemiologist, said. “What we see now is that the sustainable policy might be slower in getting results, but it will get results eventually.”

“And then we also hope that the result will be more stable,” he added.

Unlike its European neighbors, Stockholm chose not to impose lockdown measures, opting instead to emphasize personal responsibility and protection of vulnerable persons. As a result, Sweden kept its schools, businesses, and restaurants open.

According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, last week Sweden had 12 cases per million population while Denmark had 18 and Norway 14. Unlike mid-April when Sweden saw more than 100 deaths per day, today there are no more than two or three deaths. On the contrary, Copenhagen hit a record of the last 4 months on Thursday with 179 infected in 24 hours.

Some 2,500 randomly selected people in Sweden were swabbed last week, and none tested positive. At the end of April, random tests fund 0.9 percent positive and in May 0.3 percent.

“We interpret this as meaning there is not currently a widespread infection among people who do not have symptoms,” Dr. Tegnell’s deputy at the Public Health Agency of Sweden, Karin Tegmark Wisell said Thursday.

According to Johns Hopkins University, Sweden has seen 5,835 deaths with coronavirus, or 57.3 deaths per 100,000 population. In comparison, Denmark has had 10.82 deaths per 100,000, the Netherlands 36.39 per 100k, Ireland 36.61 per 100k, France 45.87 per 100k, Italy 58.77 per 100k, the UK 62.61 per 100k, Spain 62.96 per 100k, and Belgium 86.68 per 100k.

Reliable numbers on the actual number of cases and related deaths from coronavirus in China — where the virus originated — are still not available.

Last April, a report published by the American Enterprise Institute (AEI) denounced China’s official coronavirus statistics as mathematically improbable and estimated the true number of infections from the epidemic in China was about 2.9 million, over a hundred times the total of 81,907 infections claimed by Beijing.

“Population size makes it almost certain that China’s disinformation about what happened outside the original outbreak city of Wuhan is worse than the disinformation about what happened inside,” the AEI report argued.

No NO a million times no. I was referring to the CDC as having an agenda, as a flawed source of statistics incl despair deaths. TES rocks!

Coool... I just didn't read well enough who/what you were referring to. I am sure if we were talking, it would have been clearer or we would have cleared that up on the spot. This is the danger of forums - misinterpretation... especially Alex's posts! :):):)

Thanks gents for listening to the Todd Herman show. What a great team there.

Yeah, I worked on the Covid response project, back in February - May. I've done a good bit of strategy for pharma and medical clients as well as various nations, and was in Guinea and Sierra Leone back in the Ebola days... so, naturally I got called back in for this effort. I was not particularly pleased about it, but - the stuff was hitting the fan. I've always said that 'An expert is the person who gets called first when the shit hits the fan'. At that point, politics and favoritism are stripped away - people are terrified and just want the job done right, with no time to sit around listening to poseurs in suits pontificate. Notice how none of the prominent medical skeptic experts got calls??? They just sat in their offices and took long paid vacations. You didn't hear much from them this entire time. Loud when accountability is low, quiet when accountability is high. Curious how that works...

The effort amounted to 16 hour days, traveling with a letter/ID and 4 x daily temperature scans, for 4 months. We found some pretty important things and made a great contribution to the overall effort. The hotel only had 4 or 5 guests, and we all got premium rooms for full price. No discounts with 2% of capacity filled. I love having the middle seat on the aircraft open - it should stay this way.

Now 4 new pharma and med clients, and 3 nations have asked for my help as a result of that effort. Oh Joy. While these are excellent clients and they pay well - my desire is to get out of the trap of helping make big companies even richer. I've done that enough in my life, and have had my fill of Harvard degrees and Royalty-Cronies. If I have to suffer through the job-security intransigence of another ERP programmer (especially if they use the word 'debunk') or the buzzword playground of another Harvard MBA, I am gonna literally barf. These guys always act like the shtick they are plying is being done for the very first time in history. Unaware that they are in reality a dime-a-dozen, deer in the headlights, cliche.

Enough grumbling. The pandemic is over. It is just going to take time to convince leftists that what they are doing now is a human rights crime. But as the skeptics say 'You cannot reason someone out of a position they did not reason themselves into in the first place'.

You have to serve them with legal proceedings. That gets attention, and is the next step.

Marketing disinformation as an academic, governmental or media authority, in order to compel despair, panic or compliance inside a population under duress of epidemic, war or economic collapse – these things are indistinguishable from war crimes. They are a violation of basic human rights, and as such constitute acts of class harm, scienter, racketeering and oppression.

Launder - means to strip a component of value of its original context. The death is still a death, but they are not telling you that it was a death from 9 weeks ago - implying falsely that the death occurred this week.

Legacy (Data) - a professional term for older data that is not in a current system or context.

Many thanks, TES. I figured out the definitions as I went through your web site. Do you ever sleep?

Now here's a puzzle: https://www.rt.com/op-ed/500000-covid19-math-mistake-panic/

Hello, TES,

Some time ago I wrote the long essay-post on this thread:

http://www.skeptiko-forum.com/threads/coronavirus-pandemic.4489/page-69#post-145022

And I would really like if you'll read it and respond to it - one day, when you'll find time and energy to do so. If you decide to do it at all, of course, but I hope you will!

Is anyone pursuing legal action?

What’s your prognosis for the US of A next 6 months... a year... ?

Does it not seem like every effort is being made to create chaos? (Open the borders, shutdown the economy, social distance, release convicts, defund the police, Marxist mobs rioting every night, stirring of racial division, etc) And is this merely a color revolution style regime change effort to get Trump out or is getting Trump out just the immediate pretext used for an engineered dismantling of the US into more manageable pieces? The Supreme Court just set a precedent for basically breaking up states with old Indian treaties and the Left is threatening to secede to contest the election.

If they really want to create chaos, they can detonate some nukes in major cities or have an asteroid/alien scare.

RV sales are through the roof with both remote workers and city dweller refugees. And I understand why. I want to be mobile since I work remote now... both to enjoy some of the great outdoors and to be easily able to relocate to the locations of the pockets of people that collect in various places where they don’t want to take the vaccine or be a part of the Covid economy. (...can’t convince the wife to move into an RV yet though.)

The price of gas to travel in an RV is astronomical.

I’m not talking about a massive RV... but even if we moved as often as 2x a month, not as bad as the rent I’m paying now for my apartment. So I can afford a little gas. Especially now that Covid and renewables have made it cheap.

And how do we know gas will remain available?

I’m only planning to be free as long as possible which means moving where there is an economy not involving Crypto Covid bucks. Wherever such a thing pops up it would only be temporary anyway. If we enter a worst case road warrior scenario where gas is mostly not available except to the roving warlords then I’m not so much worried about gassing up the RV.

Everything is temporary. During chaotic times they are just a little more temporary than usual.

Also, where to park one? The RV Parks are really expensive. And how do we know they will not disappear? And living off the grid is quite an undertaking.

Just some thoughts.

Again not as expensive as my apartment is or a house around here would be. And again everything is temporary.
