Mod+ 257. DR. DIANE POWELL FINDS TELEPATHY AMONG AUTISTIC SAVANT CHILDREN

I've really got no problem with Sheldrakes Jaytee experiment. I'm also hugely interested in UBC's Ouija experiment which I think is rather damn clever, and might offer the best way of exploring this area, by tricking the subject into believing they are not in control. UBC only wanted a couple of thousand dollars to continue to the next stage of experiments, they couldn't raise it. NDE OBE sensory targets offer a further way to expose this effect.

Those three areas all show potential promise in my opinion, the UBC Quija idea in particular, is very cheap, you could pretty much do it at home with your friends, although it's only gonna last whilst for as long as they don't know about the trick.

Instead we spend weeks arguing about what Powell hasn't demonstrated. Whilst nobody talks about UBC, who actually have bloomin interesting results, that absolutely demand further investigation.

There's a difference between being sceptical about a particular experimental protocol in which there's obvious scope for cueing, and being a "blind-eyed Sceptic" who's determined not to believe in the paranormal regardless of the evidence.

Surely it's possible to be a proponent without discarding all one's critical faculties?

This line of reasoning is culturally and historically dependent though. Critical faculties don't exist in a vacuum. They are time-dependent, personal and subjective.

Max and Trancestate have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. It's very amusing people think there's any validity behind their "analyses." Max has already proved himself to be incompetent when it comes to logical thinking, and Trancestate is on his way there.
I'm afraid this is nonsense. The analyses look pretty solid to me. Remember I would love this stuff to be real - parapsychology could do with a slam dunk psi demonstration - but there is highly evident cueing going on. If I was in Diane's position, I would at least do one more expt under blinded conditions pronto.

pls tone it down.

Good interview. I have a bunch of thoughts. First a disclaimer. I have no doubt that telepathy exists. I accept it as fact. And I think this work from Diane sounds really exciting.

Here are the thoughts I had:

1. Once telepathy is 100% accepted by science, what does that mean? Where to go from there?

2. Diane talks about having $1 million dollars optimally to do the research, write a book and make a documentary. (And presumably publish a scientific paper.) At least I think that is what she said. But wouldn't it be better to first work with legitimate skeptical parties to correct any control flaws in the footage she has now. And then visit two or three of these kids who are telepathic and film using these controls. And then dump the whole thing onto the internet so that everyone can see every minute of every angle from every camera? Like open source science? Like NASA feeds for example. Or Google Earth images. Put the raw data out there and let people go through it. That is the only way the skeptics are ever going to accept it. Otherwise they will claim you are cherry picking and only showing a limited set of data, which would basically be true in some regard. If you are creating a subset of data, then you have made choices for some reason about what to show and what not to show. Just gather the data and put it out there. I don't think $1 million dollars would be required to do that.

This is a powerful must-see video is about autistic children like the ones I am studying. This child is just like Hayley, the girl in the video on my Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign. This video will help you understand several important issues: 1) It shows why I need much more time to work with these children than I would with other research subjects. 2) It shows why they are VERY unlikely to participate in a scam, which some skeptics have proposed. 3)The film mentions "conversations" she can't tune out. Could that be telepathy? 4) It shows how heartbreaking communication barriers are for parents, and how much people need to be educated. 5) It illustrates why am SO passionate about facilitating communication with these children. (Many are denied medical and dental treatment because they are seriously misunderstood. One boy was almost denied a heart transplant by surgeons at Stanford because they didn't realize he was like the girl in this video). Where is the video? All this seems to be is a link to some conman's site.

Unfortunately, I realized after posting it here that it doesn't take you directly to the video. It does when I share it on FB. It is definitely worth seeing! Please visit my Facebook page ( Diane Powell in Medford, Oregon) and you can see it there or friend me and I'll share it with you.

Not everyone is on Facebook.

Actually you should be able to see Facebook videos without actually having a Facebook account.

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

I want to thank you for your belief in me and your generous contributions to The Telepathy Project! The documentary is going to happen, and we have several reasons to be celebrating.

Ram, the boy in the picture above, turned 5 years old in September. He is a prodigious savant who spoke his first word at 4 months. There are only a handful of prodigious savants in the world. Ram is even rarer, because he doesn't appear to be autistic, whereas over 90 percent of savants are. By age two Ram could read, write, and speak in seven languages: Spanish, Japanese, Greek, English, Hebrew, Arabic, and Hindi! His mother can speak the first four, but not the others. Her son started writing strange letters one day, so she asked him what they were. He told her he was writing in Hebrew. She confirmed this by looking it up online. He has since written the complete Hindi and Arabic alphabets as well!

I evaluated Ram this past week. His drawings and pronunciations of the seven alphabets were completely correct. In the photo above I'm holding a paper on which he wrote the Hindi alphabet for me. Ram can also do math, including some rudimentary algebra. He grasped the concept of square roots after I showed him just one example, and could then tell me the square roots of 36 and 81.

Ram knows things to which he has never been exposed. Is he accessing the Akashic field? Could he be the reincarnation of a very special soul? Both are considerations, although he hasn't said anything to suggest that he remembers a past life.

I learned of Ram because he is also reportedly telepathic. I tried to test this, but he wasn't interested in a formal experiment yet. I came up with the idea of playing "hangman" with him and drew lines for the letters of the word I was thinking. The first word was "cat." He said "C" and then "cat"... within seconds. He quickly guessed the other words, scoring well above chance. We'll be playing this and other games often over the next few months.

Ram is exactly the kind of child I have been looking for. I will be meeting with him and his parents on a regular basis to assess and document his abilities, as well as aid him in his education. His mother needed to pull him out of public kindergarten where he was being picked on and bullied. I am looking into enrolling him in a private school more suited to his educational and social needs, with a full scholarship.
