Sean Webb, Understanding Consciousness Can Lead to Happiness |425|

Have you written about this? I’d love to learn more.

Until recently the gut have been very neglected by us, we’ve a lot to learn. I feel that eventually Andrew Wakefield, the Doctor in the MMR/autism controversy, who was in fact a gut specialist, might well be recognised as an innocent man.

No I've not commented about it before. There's not much to tell. I had a few health issues, only minor and I believed my mood as well was being influenced by my diet. I started of thinking of food as medicine which really changed my perspective. I went paleo for about a year. My health and mind dramatically improved. When I began I had a headache for about a week! My stomach felt like it was turning upside down and inside out, didn't know if I was hungry or not. That all passed. It wasn't until I shifted to a ketogenic diet and began intermittent fasting that the big changes in my mind occurred. No more brain fog, no more tiredness in the afternoons, my concentration and memory improved. And yeah the bursts of euphoria were a real surprise. Most days I only eat once, I don't feel the need to snack. I am on the verge of being 50 years old and I have more energy than I did in my 30's.

Gut bacteria produce a bunch of neurotransmitters, including seratonin and dopamine. Ketones are also a much cleaner fuel for the body, the brain loves em. I'll never look back.
