This is a talk from Oxford scholar Dr Young-Hae Chi: It's the first time I've ever heard someone even acknowledge David Jacob's work. He doesn't agree with all of Jacob's conclusions, and it's so refreshing to see someone who is able to "unite" Jacob's research with other work.

Apologies - I didn't mean to suggest otherwise ;) I think there are levels of absurdity...I don't consider QM absurd, because although it suggests physical processes happen in a very strange way, it doesn't collapse everything we knew before, because the correspondence principle ensures...

I think it depends on the topic. In the hard sciences like physics I would make a distinction between absurd and "hard to believe". For example, relativity was not absurd before it was accepted - just hard to believe. Same goes for entanglement. But using the absurdity argument has also proved...

We tried for a while to change the wikipedia entry for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, to add in the mountains of evidence that the disease has a biological basis (the vast majority of which is currently denied in the entry). It became a futile endeavour...whatever we changed was soon changed back...

Not sure what you mean by his personal mythology, but non of his clients, some of whom are religious, report being met or guided by major religious figures....

Then again Michael Newton tells us that he has not had a single case of someone being greeted in the spiritual world by any major religious figure...

I'm open to the possibility the alien abduction phenomena is spiritual, but I keep coming back to Mary Rodwell and David Jacobs' work, which shows a more mundane, programmatic development that doesn't really fit a spiritual experience.

There's a lot of talk about spirituality and consciousness/enlightenment increasing worldwide. I wondered if this was supported by google statistics. Here are some searches I did, interestingly searches for the term "spiritual" and "spirituality" have decreased over the past few years...
