I am sure that Leslie's book would be valuable to people who have not explored this stuff, but looking at the contents list of her book, I don't think I'd learn anything new if I bought it - am I wrong Alex?

There's nothing wrong with looking at an old puzzle in a new way and Leslie does a good job of providing information that way. For the enthusiast hungering for more knowledge some of the old research about Spirituality and reincarnation might be worth looking into as well. May I once again recommend, The Spirit's Book by Allen Kardec. The reader will learn that we are works in progress Spiritually. In some final blessed lifetime/stage of Spiritual evolution we will never need to endure another reincarnation, another life in this hard world. We may at last dwell in that eternal state, that Kingdom of perfect bliss Jesus tells us about. The book also provides instruction for us on how we may get there, how we may qualify for graduation. The book was compiled by Mr. Kardec from information he gathered from Spirit mediums in the 1860's. It is available free online.

Typical Alex - he gets right into the nitty gritty (the Doctor's son's "passing" and "the beings" that forewarned the doctor while she had her NDE) - I couldn't wait to post...

Leslie asked the same (emotionally charged) question I had when I saw this episode a few days ago (finished the series last night) - "Why did "these beings" tell her?" - Exactly!

Why did I have a voice in my head (multiple times) in mid August of 2001 tell me, "America is about to experience a major military event and you have to be there when it happens?" How weird that when I started telling my friends and folks who worked for me about "this voice" that caused them to force me to leave Curaçao "to get help" whereby I traveled to Dallas arriving a handful of days before 9/11 (after not being in the US for 3 years) and watched it all unfold from the beginning on CNN?

There's no explanation anyone can give me on this earthly plane and if there be "angels" or "demons" (and as some think, they are one and the same) messing with fools like me because they can transcend time... then why?

...back to the video.

I think that is a really big question - why are some people told information like this on a fairly random basis? It is something we aught to think about a lot!

WoW! There it is.... at 50:00 of the video - "But you already did" - well... guess what? She didn't do so consciously and she didn't even connect the dot until Alex pointed it out.

"He was the guy that really triggered a lot of this" (Budd Hopkins) - Alex doesn't miss much.

This is a great example of how one human "sees" that which another can't or hasn't until it has been pointed out.

"another level"

Is it like what Ryan Bledsoe said about his family with regards to "the two metals" 'Tyler D' placed in the hands of each family member (and their reaction) and yet, when placed in the hands of Ryan's fiancé - she had no reaction (and 'coincidentally' had never encountered the phenomena.)

Something there? Once one has an encounter, the odd "other worldly" experiences begin? How "fair" might that be for those who haven't? Maybe they will in a future lifetime? Is that how it works? Some have to wait?

Not necessarily, Chester. We all have a Guardian Angel. A Holy Spirit which God provides to accompany us through life on Earth and probably through lifetimes hereafter as well. Our awareness of our Angel and communication with it is important. Our Angel is a Conscious Being who is aware of our thoughts and needs. If you should happen to need a miracle from time to time during your life your Angel is your Agent and conveyor to God of whatever is your your prayer request. Take this from me, an unshakable Christian; the more desperate your prayer the more likely a response.

garry, I don't know you, but I have to imagine you mean well from your post but I have to ask...

Where was that Guardian Angel for my father on June 26, 1979 when he was only 44 when he called my sister and then called me and lied to us he was going on a trip when, instead, he swallowed 5 bottles of major cancer pain killer drugs my step-mother, his wife, refused to take as she was dying of pancreatic cancer, where, if she had, he wouldn't have had the pills to kill himself? Where was my Guardian Angel when I implored!!! (no more fervently than the most fervent prayer) that my father to let me go with him on his "faux trip" and he insisted he would be "ok" as he "hired an armed security guard" to go with him. My intuition was on fire yet I chose to trust him and trust God he would be safe and to this day, still carry the guilt... TO THIS DAY! I don't "get over it." Was it a demon instead that pushed the thought into me... "trust Dad, trust God?"

So what sort of "Godnamic" puts us in this finite reality where, even if there's life after death, we have to have some "Guardian Angel" in the first place to help us (albeit selectively) in times of "need"?

And hey, don't get me wrong, the miracles I have experienced (and feel that I have zero reason to deserve any of them) have been just tooo uncanny to simply be chance, but the "angels and demons" framework. to me... smells. Something just don't add up about it. I like what Whitley observed and stated at the end of Alex's Strieber interview... "I do not trust the visitors. I trust my innate goodness as a human being." And in another part he says its down to "love, compassion and humility."

"But I do not trust them and I do not trust their various attempts to make themselves seem more angelic (hello, Chris Bledsoe) to me." "I think they got caught in a dark vortex a long time ago... some of them did and they are trapped in it, and I am not there, I am not trapped in it..."

My "operative metaphor" at the moment is this - It appears most "physically alive human beings" are nothing but pinballs in a pinball machine where one flipper is "angels" and another flipper is "demons," and the only way to extricate oneself from being such is to work day and night vigilantly on that very thing Whitley points out - "love, compassion and humility."

The episode with death bed visions was my favorite (and with those polaroid photos). Except that I distrust those ghost hunter types that use all kinds of electronic gadgets.

Actually DOPS have done research in death bed visions as well. I wonder why they did not interview them (perhaps they did not know).

Leslie Kean’s groundbreaking book, Surviving Death, is a top 5 NETFLIX series.

Audio Clip: [00:00:00] The question of what happens after we die has intrigued humans for as long as we’ve been around. As a physician, I know that most people don’t think about death really until they’re forced to. Her brain was not functioning and she had the most vivid experience.
I'm a total believer in all things paranormal and that your consciousness survives death without question IMO and all of that! But ...... this individual like many I hear on this web site - has no real proof of what they say. Is it just for the books Netflix deals etc .... ?????very SPKEPTICAL!!!!!! on SKEPTICO!!!

As I posted, are people like this just into for selling books and movies ; they offer no real proof of any of this. Its kind of like the phony baloney Psychics you see around town, with the big eye :) all for some money honey!!!!! :)

Now that I think of it, that hospice worker/doctor in the episode who you also discuss in the show could be an excellent guest in Skeptiko.

I can sympathize Chester. Where was my son Ryan's Guardian Angel when he died suddenly last September at age 33 of a burst lower aorta? He had everything to live for as a registered nurse, a person with a skill we are presently so in need of. Though I remain grief stricken I must accept God's will. His death was quick and without suffering. He was a good boy and a good man and I believe all nurses go to Heaven.

The episodes on NDE´s and reincarnation are my favorites, however for people that are interested in the topic, it is similar to testimonies that we used to hear before. I can imagine that it will be a huge undertaking and very costly, but I would have loved to see more diverse testimonies. It is the usual suspects. People living in the west. It is not that I find it disbelieving but I would love to see or hear testimonies of people in (ex) Nicaragua, Lebanon, Russia, or Mozambique. What would be very interesting, if the testimonies would come from cultures and countries that really deny these, such as those in the middle east.

Thanks for the reference for The Spirits' Book. Sometimes the old stuff has some of the most profound insights, like I Am That. In this interview, I could tell Alex really likes the evidence provided by 'birthmarks.' When I had an aura balancing session one time years & years ago, the person who did it said my rectangular 'birthmark' on the inside of my right thigh was a slave tattoo from a previous life. Slaves & horses were tattooed that way to keep from spoiling the looks of those tattooed for identification purposes. He also said, besides having been a black slave, I had been one in Egypt as well & that I had a particularly hard time w/ selfless service. Reincarnation is usually explained as a way for souls to pay off their karma so they may leave the wheel of rebirth. What else could it mean?

IDK... I mean the thing about Leslie is she has a journalistic sensibility and she really put things together in a very convincing way.

I am very sorry about your son. I cannot precisely relate but I have experienced metaphorically being murdered by my middle son (of three sons). I am effectively "dead" to him, his two brothers, his wife and my only two grand children (his son and daughter) because he took them all with him in the murdering of me, his Dad.

Thank you, universe, for providing me with such a wonderful lesson opportunity. Thank you, God. Thank you, Holy Guardian Angel for not intervening that allowed this occurrence to happen - or... was there some other type of "angel thing" demon? daimon??? that played some "unseen" role in placing insane ideas into the mind of my son?

Ahhh... so maybe its not about "me?" Maybe its a lesson my son needs to learn. This actually happens to be the assumption I have onboarded as a belief because it is the only thing that gets me through the day. I have to bet on a belief to live with the pain... to transcend the pain in fact... (which has been my goal).

Have "faith" (as Whitley says) - just focus on love (I pray for them all often... and my prayers are not riddled with outcome attachments other than the only one that matters... that their well being is enhanced! None of it about me... all just heartfelt "love" cast their way via "God" and "the Universe" (maybe they are both the same).

Compassion (as Whitley also said) - I have compassion for him and for all he carried down with him as one day, either in his current lifetime, or after, he will come to the truth (that he was terribly wrong as to his conclusions) and my sadness is due to a projection of mine which actually may or may not come true - that he would suffer from the regret he "should" feel for being so wrong and about something so important it effectively murdered me in his eyes and all the ones I mentioned - my entire children and all their children and spouses.

Humility - that's the BIG ONE IMO. I am indeed humbled yet perhaps not enough as I have questions and would argue my case to God's face if God would have a direct conversation with me... and if God wouldn't (and so far God hasn't) I can only hope the angels, demons and/or daimons (who may in fact represent both and who in fact preceded in historical appearance to "demons" from my information) see what's going on and begin to question this God thingie... because something smells about all this and (in my very most humble opinion) not enough people who are a.) open to extended reality and b.) are open to the idea there be "God" are doing this questioning.

How does one exist anchored to a paradigm where you are held 100% responsible for all your actions (which include your words written and spoken) and yet, you are supposed to operate with "faith" when things don't make sense?

Something doesn't connect here. Something doesn't jive.
