Alan has contacted me about doing an interview on Skeptiko. I thought it would be fun to kick around some ideas with him in this forum before we dive into level three [[pl]]

here is his new film:
https://www.paranormalnow.net/half-light-film

Below are some topics:

-Is our interest in the paranormal more than just a fascination with strange happenings? Or does it go deeper?
-Is there life after death or other dimensions where our consciousness continues on?
-The paranormal experiencer is living the hero's journey.
-How does ufology and paranormal research play an important role for society?
-Historical precedents of scientific and archaeological discoveries made by outliers and fringe researchers/amateurs, which serve as justification for the modern paranormal amateur/researcher.
-Basic flaws in debunker critiques of UFO and paranormal events such as alien abduction, cryptid and ghost investigations.
-Is the pursuit of the paranormal a substitute for religion?
-Is there an underlying nature to reality that may explain an apparent connection between the many types of supernatural occurrences?
-What is the state of UAP/UFO disclosure, and will transparency of governmental agencies increase, leading to full Disclosure of the UAP phenomena?
-What is the impact of encounters with aliens, ghosts, shadow people, or other non-human consciousnesses (such as during psychedelic experiences)?
-There are mystical parallels between such experiences that may indicate a relationship between them, and serve as evidence for their existence.
-Why is NY Hudson Valley/Pine Bush, NY considered a UFO hot spot? Which cases stand out? Are there geological or other reasons for this?

This could be interesting. Alan B Smith

My favorite quotes from the move ( so far ):

Jane Kyle: "Romance brought me to the paranormal."
Peter Robbins: "Oh My God — They're real."
Race Hobbs: "The further away from the light that they got — the dimmer it got, the dimmer it got, the dimmer it got."
Cheryl Costa: "Who put the wax dummy in the box?"
Josie Varga: "I was talkin' to my sister in law and she said to me – she said: 'Josie — don't you realize that you've been given a gift?'".
Marc D'Antionio: "I know what that was! I know what that was! I know what that was!
Ryan Sprague: "I came out on the other side truly appreciating not only my parents, but appreciating life more than anything."
Tiffany Mac: "I had a so-called 'partner' who was an investigator with MUFON." ( Spoiler — you don't need to be psychic to guess how the rest goes )
Jeremy Norrie: "I don't think my heart could survive another breakup like this."
Camille-Bettina Atkinson: "I knew that I didn't just live in this world."

Okay — Let's have some fun.
-Is our interest in the paranormal more than just a fascination with strange happenings? Or does it go deeper?
Yes.
-Is there life after death or other dimensions where our consciousness continues on?
Definitely — at least in the movies.
-The paranormal experiencer is living the hero's journey.
Does that make Beetlejuice a Hero?
-How does ufology and paranormal research play an important role for society?
Paranormal research plays an important role for society by providing romance for girls like Jane.
-Historical precedents of scientific and archaeological discoveries made by outliers and fringe researchers/amateurs, which serve as justification for the modern paranormal amateur/researcher.
Can you please rephrase that in the form of a question?
-Basic flaws in debunker critiques of UFO and paranormal events such as alien abduction, cryptid and ghost investigations.
Indeed — basic flaws — very basic — especially when it comes to them there alien abductions.
-Is the pursuit of the paranormal a substitute for religion?
The pursuit of the paranormal is a substitute for religion, the same way religion is a substitute for drugs.
First you get all messed-up on one. Then you get all messed-up on the other.
-Is there an underlying nature to reality that may explain an apparent connection between the many types of supernatural occurrences?
Yes — cats. Cats are at the very center of everything ( see the answer to the next question ).
-What is the state of UAP/UFO disclosure, and will transparency of governmental agencies increase, leading to full Disclosure of the UAP phenomena?
The state of UAP/UFO disclosure cannot be determined without looking inside the box. But we cannot look inside the box without releasing the vial and killing the cat. Hence the state of UFO disclosure remains in a state of superposition unil an observer collapses the wave function.
-What is the impact of encounters with aliens, ghosts, shadow people, or other non-human consciousnesses (such as during psychedelic experiences)?
The impact of encounters with aliens, ghosts, shadow people, or other non-human consciousnesses (such as during psychedelic experiences) can apparently be quite profound – possibly leading to a second date.
-There are mystical parallels between such experiences that may indicate a relationship between them, and serve as evidence for their existence.
Indeed — women seem to have an intuition about those sorts of things. It's better to just confess than to try to hide them.
-Why is NY Hudson Valley/Pine Bush, NY considered a UFO hot spot? Which cases stand out? Are there geological or other reasons for this?
Well — according to the Hudson Valley Post, one of Hudson Valley's most famous hot spots is Pizzeria Posto in Rhinebeck.

Actually I went from wtf is Randall talking about to laughing... well played XD

I think all the questions asked are interesting. About the hero's journey question, isn't the word "hero" bandied about to much these days. And at least in Crowley's case, he seemed to be living the anti-hero's jorney...
